Born in a province known for butterfly knives, strong coffee and feisty people; raised in a mixed background of agriculture and industry. Her childhood was a combination of rural and urban.

One grandfather nurtured her with stories of myths, legends, and fantastical beings; another took her trekking. By three, she had been afflicted by an incurable reading habit. She collected fairy tales, wrote poetry and short stories, and is perpetually in the hunt for horror stories that can scare her. She also developed an affinity for herbs, spices and trees — big, gnarly ones, especially.

As a child, she was a woodland spirit with the power to absorb energy from nature. As a teenager, she had to resort to writing tearful poetry to balance her otherwise happy social life.

She went into business with a goal of retiring as an author. During pandemic, she finally stopped dillydallying and answered her calling to become a writer. Her first series, the World of the Viscerebus is based on the most infamous and feared creature of Philippine lore. The first book, Rise of the Viscerebus - First Chronicle was published in July 2020. Other published books in this series are: Dawn of the Dual Apex - Second Chronicle, The Keeper, the first companion novel, and Beasts of Prey, the second companion novel. The fifth one is in its final revision, and the 6th book is being written.

Her second series, a more in-depth and expansive dive into the lore, is called The Katalonan Chronicles. The first book, Dark Allies, Dark Adversaries was published Feb 2023. The second book is under beta reading.

She is also writing her first horror anthology book, all based on the scariest tales and creatures from the lore. And this fills her with joy.

Her day job is now geared toward sustaining her writing habit. She also now responds to Oz Mari G., her pen name for her fictional works.
