JP Sexton grew up in Ireland on the Inishowen peninsula of County Donegal. He chronicles the family's harsh living conditions in his debut memoir; "The Big Yank - Memoir of a Boy Growing Up Irish". Being the eldest of five children, and often living without running water or electricity meant he had to assume more manly roles even before he reached his teen years. His first "unofficial job" at nine years old was as a smuggler. His father (The Big Yank) operated a factory restaurant in Buncranna and he organized weekly family "outings" across the border in Derry City which was a ruse for smuggling food at a greatly discounted price into the Republic of Ireland. Reading and writing became his escape from the turmoil around him.
His love for creative writing grew into local publications in Ireland until he finally pushed himself to reach out to a larger audience. His love for action and adventure also flourished and led him to travel around the world in such places as the Former Yugoslavia during the genocidal wars of the 90s, Asia, Africa, The Middle East, etc. He is currently planning the first book in a spy-thriller series set in Northern Ireland and other worldwide locations.
